Personal Entry: August Madness!

Ohhhh wow, things have been insane. In case you haven't heard, I've been doing a lot of writing for the AMAZING Seoulistic.com lately. I'm trying to pump out one article a week and have, happily been able to keep the ideas flowing (with help from the gorgeous Gyopo Keith, of course!). I've also been trying to wrap up the semester at my actual job while picking up a few private students. All of this has been happening while I find myself very surely single (sorry for all those fans of Mr. Y out there). My default setting whilst single is HYPER DRIVE!!! I hate being the sad single girl sitting alone in her apartment, because that sad single girl has a serious craving for housing a pizza and a pint of ice cream by herself. I've been seriously running around like a freaking mad woman.

This past weekend was just... stupid busy. Thursday was a staff dinner.

Friday was the first night of my birthday festivities with an awesome Ladies night. We had some legit barbeque and our first few rounds of drinks in Hongdae before moving on to Club Ellui in Gangnam, which is pretty much my favorite club in Seoul.

Saturday was my good friend and coworker Delia's going away party. I met some seriously cool people at this thing, including Daniel Kim, who runs PopMythology.com. The night started with rooftop drinks, moved to the very cool Bulldog Tavern, and ended with us screaming our voices out at noraebang. Epicness: Achieved.

Sunday I had to drag my body, which now was pretty much just a sack of hangover, to my tutoring gigs and then to dinner at the delicious Bonny's Pizza in HBC with some more good friends.

Monday was MAH BIRTHDAY!!!!

It was also my buddy Kim's birthday! We joined forces and started at Taj Indian Food in Gangnam before going to Bunker (free bottle of champagne and 50% off all drinks on your birthday) and Monkey Beach (free bottle of liqour on your birthday). My friends proved themselves sooo very worthy by winning us three more free bottles of liquor doing various games at Monkey Beach. Lets just say the night gets a little... hazy.

That brings us to today. I decided to torture myself by actually getting out of bed at a reasonable hour. It was for a good cause, though, because it was to go eat crepes and look at pretty flowers in Sinchon with the magnanimous Paul (check out his super cool 365 Project photos here, he's pretty damn talented). Then tonight was sushi with Mr. Y to round out the birthday festivities. I'll have to say, this has been one of my better birthdays, without a doubt.

This week I start vacation and I think that if I don't try and relax a little soon either my brain or my liver will suffer permanent damage. I am, however, super tempted to either give myself a massive Seoul-based challenge for next week or possibly jet down to Jeju for some alone time with just me, my kindle, and the ocean... mmmm... peace and quiet.
